Hi! I'm Joel. After 11 years and 18,000+ hours of professional experience, I founded Lifestyle Physio & Wellness PLLC, to create space for evidence-based, positive physical training.
I received my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from UT Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2012, and then advanced certification in Vestibular Rehabilitation in 2022. I specialize in matching physical performance goals with their associated sensory feedback systems.
My practice domains include:
• Vestibular Rehabilitation
• Sports Rehabilitation
• Neuromuscular Performance
• Orthopedics
• Pain Management
• Aerobic Conditioning
Learning novel movement skills is vital to health and wellness, whether it be for the purpose of leisure, or recovery from injury. This is outlined formally by current research, and it constitutes the very fabric and origins of Lifestyle Physio & Wellness…Let’s talk!
I grew up in north Texas, before moving to San Antonio, where I’ve resided since 2009. My formative journey has included immersive embodiment experiences that honor the bio-psycho-social health model, such as – performing in classical music ensembles, competitive sports, creative arts, camping & hiking through the mountains…and fast-forwarding to present day, filling my recreational time with playing with my two young children, and social dancing as often as I can. The common denominator, and the best experiences, have been those which curated a positive and actionable self-concept of how to move through this world.
Okay, now your turn!
• What does the ideal peak physical state look like to you?
• Does it most closely resemble performance or play?
• Is it an event or a lifestyle?
• And what are the skills required in order to consistently reach that physical state?
I invite you to share, and enter into your next season of physical activity with all the health you deserve.
